Consumer Safety & Ingredient Information

We believe in being transparent about what goes into our products. Below is an easy-to-understand guide to each ingredient, why we use it, and what you should know about its safety.

1. Water (Purified)

  • How we process it:
Our water goes through three stages for maximum purity:

    1. Water Softener – removes minerals like calcium and magnesium.

    2. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Tank – filters out microscopic impurities, salts, and contaminants.

    3. Distillation – boils and re-condenses the water, leaving behind any remaining particles.

  • Why it matters:
This process ensures our water is among the cleanest you can get—free of heavy metals, microbes, and chemical residues. Clean water is the base of a safe, gentle lubricant.

2. Hydroxyethylcellulose (Thickener)

  • What it is: A plant-derived powder that turns water into a smooth gel.

  • Why we use it: Gives the product its silky, non-sticky texture.

  • Safety: Commonly used in eye drops, lotions, and personal care products. Non-toxic, non-irritating, and hypoallergenic.

3. Xanthan Gum (Stabilizer & Thickener)

  • What it is: A natural gum made by fermenting sugar with friendly bacteria.

  • Why we use it: Works with hydroxyethylcellulose to give the gel body and stability. Helps prevent separation over time.

  • Safety: Widely used in foods (salad dressings, sauces) and cosmetics. Recognized as safe by the FDA.

4. Potassium Sorbate (Preservative)

  • What it is: A salt form of sorbic acid, found in nature in some berries.

  • Why we use it: Prevents growth of mold, yeast, and harmful microbes in water-based products.

  • Safety: Food-grade and used in cheese, wine, and baked goods. Safe at the tiny amounts we use.

5. Sodium Benzoate (Preservative)

  • What it is: A sodium salt of benzoic acid.

  • Why we use it: Works together with potassium sorbate to keep the product fresh and safe.

  • Safety: FDA-approved for foods and beverages. Used in sodas, jams, and condiments. Safe at low levels.

6. Citric Acid (pH Balancer)

  • What it is: A natural acid from citrus fruits.

  • Why we use it: Helps maintain a skin-friendly pH, making the product comfortable for sensitive areas.

  • Safety: Used in food and cosmetics worldwide. Non-toxic and safe at the concentrations used.

7. Riboflavin (Vitamin B2 – Colorant)

  • What it is: A natural vitamin with a bright yellow-green glow under UV light.

  • Why we use it: Provides natural, food-grade coloring (especially for glow-in-the-dark products).

  • Safety: Essential vitamin found in eggs, dairy, and leafy greens. Safe and non-toxic.

8. Food-Safe Colorants & Flavorings (Optional)

  • What they are: Dyes and flavors specifically approved for food use.

  • Why we use them: To add fun colors and tastes to some specialty products.

  • Safety: Only food-grade, FDA-approved ingredients are used. No harsh chemicals, no unsafe dyes.

9. Titanium Dioxide (Color & Opacity Agent)

  • What it is: A naturally occurring mineral commonly used in foods, cosmetics, and sunscreens.

  • Why we use it: Provides a creamy, opaque look to certain products, improving appearance and consistency.

  • Safety: Food-grade and FDA-approved for many applications. Non-toxic at the tiny amounts we use and considered safe for topical products.

10. PEG-20 (Emulsifier & Solubilizer)

  • What it is: A food- and cosmetic-grade compound made from polyethylene glycol, often used to help mix oil-based ingredients into water.

  • Why we use it: Keeps formulas smooth and consistent by helping colors, flavors, or scents blend evenly into the water base.

  • Safety: Widely used in lotions, cosmetics, and even oral care products. Non-toxic at the levels we use, and approved for cosmetic and personal care applications.
